In Genesis 12, we read that “Abram travelled through the land…. From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord….”
I love the thought that Abram pitched his tent but built his altar. His tent, his home, was temporary but the altars he built, representing his faith, trust and hope in God, were permanent.
Hebrews 11:9-10 record this of Abraham. “Because Abraham had faith, he lived as a stranger in the promised land. He lived there in a tent…, 10 Abraham did this, because he was waiting for the eternal city that God had planned and built.”
As Sowers of the Good News, let us remember this important lesson – “Only one life that will soon be past, only what’s done for God will last.” May we live our lives with eternity in view.

That the National Board will have working capital to cover activities until the implementation of next year's budget.
